Today I woke up to a puking dog, a demanding toddler, a table overflowing with laundry and a checked out co-parent. So I "sucked it up", poured a cup of coffee and gave it my all. I felt achy and tired, even resentful that nobody asked what I needed. Then, I realized that I didn't ask myself what I needed, either. That's a good place to start- acknowledging that voice inside yourself. Because if you don't listen to you, how can you expect others to?
