TELETHERAPY

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” – Fred Rogers

What is Teletherapy?

Teletherapy is providing mental health therapy through a live video connection, over the internet. You receive the same treatment as you would in person, it’s just done through a computer! If you’ve ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you’ve used the same type of technology* teletherapy uses.

Teletherapy is a great option...

  • for busy professionals tuning in from the office

  • for busy parents tuning in from home

  • for people traveling who want to stay on track with therapy goals

  • for persons lacking transportation

  • for persons experiencing medical or psychological conditions that make in-person counseling difficult

  • during inclement weather

  • during a pandemic or natural disaster

  • to meet the needs of persons with disabilities

Why I use Sessions by Psychology Today for Teletherapy

  • Secure video, audio, and content sharing across desktop and mobile devices

  • Support for HIPAA and PIPEDA/PHIPA compliance, including AES 256-bit encryption of all meeting data and chat messages

*For clients interested in receiving counseling from their home or office, but not via video, I offer counseling by phone.
